Multi-County Juried Show: RISK - Spring 2022

RISK is a regional juried exhibition for artists from Lenawee, Jackson, Monroe, Washtenaw, and Hillsdale counties in Michigan, and Lucas and Fulton counties in Ohio. The exhibition will be held at Adrian Center for the Arts in Adrian, Michigan, from May 23 through June 25, 2022. The exhibition focuses on the concept or idea of RISK, which artists may interpret broadly, ironically, seriously, or with humor. Artists are invited to explore the notion of RISK in artmaking, culture, myth, literature, or their own life experience, working in any medium or style.

Artists may submit up to 3 pieces completed within the last three years, using any medium or combination of media for original works. This may include editioned work but does not include giclée or digital prints of works that exist in other media. Work must pass through a 33" wide x 81" tall doorway and must not exceed 200 pounds. The ACA gallery is not equipped for projection, video, or time-based media, but these may be considered if the artist provides all needed equipment. Works previously exhibited in the ACA Gallery are not eligible.

Accepted artists must deliver artwork from May 13 through May 20. A reception will be held on June 25 from 2-4 p.m., and artists may remove their artwork after the reception. Artwork not picked up by the end of June 25 will be subject to a storage fee unless prior arrangements have been made. Unless indicated as not for sale (NFS), all work will be available for purchase during the exhibition. The ACA will retain 20% of the sales price on all art sold. The application fee is $35 for up to three entries. There is no application fee for ACA members. The deadline for applications is April 15. Jury dates are April 19 through April 29, with notification of acceptance on April 30. Artists must accept and confirm by May 8. The juror is Travis Erxleben, Chair of the Adrian College Art Department.
