About This Call
Miami Urban Contemporary Experience (MUCE) invites visual artists to submit works in all media for the "Now or Neverland" exhibition. Eligibility is open to all performance, installation, traditional and new media artists. All entries must be of original design and personal execution.
"Now or Neverland" is a multidisciplinary exhibition developed to share stories about life in urban communities and the personal fables that develop throughout childhood and linger into adulthood. The exhibition explores the artist's perspective on urban myth, childhood development and adult perspective experiences. "Neverland" symbolizes the reality of urban landscapes, where magic exists in the grit of the sidewalks and rhythm of the inhabitants.
Submissions must include 1-20 images and go through Call for Entry (www.callforentry.org). If developing new work specifically for this exhibition, include a short description of concept with sketches. For media submissions, email a Dropbox or Vimeo link to [email protected]. There is no size limit; site-specific installations, videos, or performances should include links to current and past work. The non-refundable submission fee is $50, with an additional $10 installation/hanging fee per work accepted for exhibition. Selected works must be delivered between November 20-24, 2015 and picked up no later than December 9, 2015. Each accepted entry must be installation-ready, framed or encased with appropriate hanging hardware and installation instructions, clearly labeled with artist's name and title. The exhibition runs December 3-6, 2015 at Chef Creole Performance Park, 200 NW 54th ST, Miami, FL 33127. Accepted work may not be withdrawn before the close of the exhibition on December 6, 2015. MUCE will have event liability insurance and the area will be under 24-hour surveillance during Art Basel. The gallery may photograph work for reproduction in the catalogue and use images to publicize and promote the exhibition and future exhibitions.
