Mountain Maryland Plein Air Competition & Exhibition 2018

Mountain Maryland Plein Air is a national competition and exhibition hosted by Allegany Arts Council. Applicants must submit 3 digital images of plein air artwork and a 200-word maximum bio through the CaFé system. The entry fee is $40. A total of 30 artists will be selected by juror Vladislav Yeliseyev based on submitted images. All applicants will receive electronic notification of results.

Selected artists will be featured in an exhibition during the week of September 24-29, 2018, designed to educate audiences and promote participating artists. All exhibited artwork must be for sale. A 35% commission on artwork sold during the event will be retained by Allegany Arts Council's Saville Gallery, with artwork insured for 65% of its retail value. The Arts Council will assist with lodging arrangements for participating artists. Optional events will be planned during Plein Air week, and all invited artists will be pre-registered for the Quick Draw event on Saturday (no registration fee required).
