About This Call
Mountain Maryland Plein Air is a juried competition and exhibition open to international artists. Applicants must submit 3 digital images of their plein air artwork and a 200-word bio. The entry fee is $40. All applications must be submitted by midnight Mountain Standard Time on February 14, 2016. If selected, applicants must provide a photo of themselves for use in the event booklet and website.
A total of 30 artists will be invited to participate. Juror Jason Sacran will evaluate submitted images to determine selections. Invited artists will be featured in an exhibition during the event week (June 7-11) and are encouraged to participate in the Quick Draw event on Saturday at no additional charge. Accepted artists are responsible for their own lodging, though community members have agreed to host participating artists. A 40% commission on all artwork sold will be retained by Allegany Arts Council's Saville Gallery, with artwork insured for 60% of its retail value during the exhibition.
