Mother

Dorado 806 Projects, a women-run art collective based in Santa Monica, CA, is seeking submissions for an exhibition exploring the Mother archetype. The exhibition is interested in works that explore Mother energy from any perspective—you do not need to be a mother to apply. Artists who have experienced motherhood alongside their artistic practice are encouraged to note this in their artist statement.

The exhibition will take place in Torrance, CA from August 23-25, 2024. In-person delivery of works is required on August 20-21, 2024, or shipped artwork must arrive in LA by August 19, 2024. The entry fee is $25 for up to 3 pieces per submission, with additional submissions permitted. Accepted media include painting, drawing, printmaking, fiber, and sculpture. All work must be original, unsold, and under 24 inches in every direction (series of pieces are permitted if each maintains the size requirement). Submit 1-3 clear, well-lit images at 2MB or above, cropped to the edges, with your name and artwork title in the file name.

All selected work must remain available for sale throughout the exhibition. Sales are split 60/40, with 60% going to the artist and 40% to Dorado 806 Projects. This split also applies to any work sold by the artist after the show as a direct result of the exhibition. Sales remittance will be provided within 14 business days after payment is received. Artists are responsible for shipping and packaging their work; buyers pay shipping and insurance for sold artwork. All US artists are welcome to apply.
