Morean Center for Clay Solo Show

The Morean Center for Clay in St. Petersburg, Florida invites ceramics artists to submit proposals for solo exhibitions to open between August 2019 and July 2020 in the Center Gallery. The opportunity is open to all artists over the age of 18. The Center Gallery is a white cube measuring 14' 6" x 15' 9" located in the middle of a working art center and studio. Work that is experimental and pushes the boundaries of contemporary ceramics will be preferred, but all ceramic artists are encouraged to apply. Proposals from underrepresented and emerging artists will also be given preference.

Each accepted artist will be contacted and a month will be chosen for their solo exhibition. The artist is responsible for transporting their work to and from the gallery. The Center Gallery will handle installation and deinstallation. Each accepted exhibition will have an opening on the Second Saturday of the month of exhibition, with the exhibition remaining on view for 3 weeks. Artists may request a short artist talk during the opening, which can be conducted in person or via Skype.

A small amount of money is available to help artists realize their proposals, to be discussed on an individual basis with accepted artists. Financial support is not guaranteed by acceptance. Artists interested in receiving financial support should include a budget in their proposal document. Entry fee is $25.00. Submissions should include 10-20 images, and may optionally include up to 10 audio files and up to 10 video files.
