About This Call
More Than Literacy. Identity-affirming, representation-centered, and artist-driven. More Than Lit is a community-centered art auction that amplifies local illustrators and artists while raising funds to advance Read With Me MN’s mission. Together, we’re working to close the literacy achievement gap by increasing access to culturally relevant texts.
This isn’t your average fundraiser. This event honors the power of representation, creativity, and collective impact. And it’s one of the biggest ways we keep our year-round literacy work thriving.
This is your opportunity to have your work featured, your voice amplified, and your story shared.
To create space for both emerging and established artists, this year’s event will feature three categories:
Youth Artists (ages 16–17)
Adult Artists (ages 18+)
Illustrators (18+)
The Artist call ends March 31. Selected artists will be invited to meet with the More Than Lit board and to begin the collaborative work for this community driven event.
More Than Lit takes place Aug 7, 2026 at The Hennepin, 900 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis, MN
Artists retain 90% of the auction price.
