About This Call
The Monte Sano Art Festival celebrates its 27th year as one of the Southeast's premier juried art festivals. Set atop scenic Monte Sano Mountain in Huntsville, Alabama, the festival showcases more than 140 visual artists from across the country, selected for excellence in fine arts and originality. More than 8,000 art enthusiasts attend annually for a weekend immersed in fine art, live music, and local flavor. The festival blends the natural beauty of a wooded park setting with the energy of a vibrant arts community.
The 2026 festival takes place Saturday, September 19 from 9 AM to 5 PM and Sunday, September 20 from 9 AM to 4 PM at Monte Sano State Park. Accepted medium categories include clay, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture, two-dimensional work, wood, and other fine art. Work must be original artwork produced by the exhibiting artist showing significant manipulation and originality. No buy-sell, resale, kits, flea market items, candles, bath/beauty products, oils, knives, or weapons are accepted. Molds, patterns, and forms are allowed if made and designed by the artist.
Applications require submission of six images: four individual pieces with price, title, and dimensions, and one mandatory booth shot showing overall presentation and continuity of work. Photos must not include identifying information. The jury fee is $30, and booth fees are $230 (due by July 8, 2026). Booth spaces are 10' x 10' with no power available and no generators permitted. Artist amenities include indoor restrooms, parking, booth sitters, and Saturday box lunch delivery. Cash awards include One Best of Show ($1,000) and Two Peak Awards of Distinction ($500 each). A wait list will be established by category based on jury scores.
