Molten

Molten is a glass and metal exhibition at the Kavanagh Gallery of Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles, Illinois, running March 21 - May 2, 2024. The show features handmade glass or metal works where heat is used in creation, with at least 80% of materials being glass and/or metal. The exhibition is open to all artists 18 and over who reside in the United States.

Submissions must include up to 3 original pieces completed within the last three years that have not been previously shown at Fine Line. All work must be for sale. Entries require 1-3 images and an artist statement (limited to 1000 characters). The entry fee is $35. Jury decisions will be based on creativity, quality of artistry, and originality, with notification by February 17, 2024. $800 in prizes will be awarded.

Artists are responsible for shipping work to and from Fine Line Creative Arts Center (37w570 Bolcum Rd, St Charles, IL 60175) and must include a return shipping label. Insurance during shipping is the artist's responsibility. Fine Line charges a 30% sales commission on sold work and handles all sales, sales tax, and payment to artists after the show. Artists may optionally list work for sale on the Fine Line website during the show, with Fine Line handling taxes and shipping for online sales. The gallery provides grey pedestals and uses a Walker Display system for wall-hung work. Hanging work should have wire and screw eyes; no saw-tooth hangers or clip frames. Special display requirements are the artist's responsibility. Fine Line provides 24/7 security and insurance coverage (valued at 70% of sale price) from receipt of work through show end. Delivery and check-in is March 16, 2024 (10 am - 5 pm). An opening reception is March 21, 2024 (6-8 pm). The show is open to the public Monday-Saturday, 10 am - 5 pm. Work pickup is May 4, 2024 (10 am - 5 pm), with unsold shipped work returned between May 6-9, 2024.
