About This Call
Modern Impressionist Magazine is a bi-monthly print magazine featuring Modern Impressionist artists and their stories. The magazine is beautifully designed, written and curated to highlight and showcase the masters of this modern movement back to impressionism.
The Modern Impressionist Salon contest runs from February 15th to March 15th, 2026, and will be judged by award-winning artist Ingrid Christensen. This contest is open to all 2D artists internationally, accepting all 2D paintings in any medium. Only original work created within the last 3 years is eligible; classwork, supervised work, copies, or works based on another artist's images or published references are not allowed. Winning paintings cannot be resubmitted.
Awards include a $10,000 Annual Grand Prize (selected from monthly winners and honorable mentions through July 2026), First Place ($1,000 cash prize, feature in Modern Impressionist Magazine, social media ribbon and promotion), Second Place ($400 cash prize, feature in magazine, social media ribbon and promotion), and Third Place ($200 cash prize, feature in magazine, social media ribbon and promotion). Three honorable mentions will also be selected. The top 40 pieces will be displayed in the Published Shows section of OnlineJuriedShows and recognized on social media. The top 20 pieces and award winners will be published in the magazine and featured on social media.
Entry fees are $35 for the first entry and $20 for each additional entry, up to 15 total entries. Entry fees are non-refundable. All entries must be submitted in digital JPEG format, under 4 MB, in sRGB colorspace. Image files should be 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi or higher. Award winners may be asked to submit larger high-definition image files for publication. Any artwork entered may be reproduced for Modern Impressionist Magazine's advertising, marketing, and promotional purposes without consent or notification to the artist.
