Modern Day Monet

Hill-Stead Museum announces its first Annual Juried Members Exhibition, intended to connect artists with the Museum's natural beauty and collection masterworks. Artists inspired by nature and light are invited to submit work(s) to this juried show. Artists may work from any naturescape of their choice and are welcome to draw inspiration and/or work on site at Hill-Stead. The 152-acre grounds include gardens, meadows, trails, sweeping vistas, and pastures filled with sheep and freshly-made haystacks.

Up to three works per artist may be submitted, with a maximum of one work per artist selected for the exhibition. Two-dimensional work must be framed and ready for installation with hanging hardware already installed; work cannot exceed 60 inches in any dimension or 50 pounds. Three-dimensional work cannot exceed 48 inches in any dimension or 100 pounds and should be accompanied by a pedestal or be ready for display as freestanding work. Installations are not accepted due to space constraints. The Museum prohibits glitter, wet paint, sharp objects, open flames, balloons, sprays, dangerous chemicals, weapons, pressurized containers, plants, animals, hazardous materials, decaying materials, or anything deemed harmful to the collection.

Eligibility: National and international artists 18 years or older with current Hill-Stead Museum membership. Original works in all media executed during the past year are accepted. Entry fee is $20.00 with an additional $10.00 per extra piece submitted. Current membership is required ($50.00 if not a member). Submission deadline is February 29, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MST through CaFÉ. Shipped artwork must arrive by April 11, 2024. Exhibition dates: April 25 - May 26, 2024.
