Modern Art National Juried Exhibition

Modern Art National Juried Exhibition with $1500 in cash awards. Modern Art is defined as art which rejects traditional, historical and academic forms or traditional media; art which does not portray realistic observation of a landscape, portrait or still life.

Eligibility: US artists age 18 and up with original art from the last three years. 2D art size limit is 48 inches wide and 72 inches tall. 3D art size limit is 24x24 inches, 72 inches height, with a 40 lb weight limit and must be able to be handled and set up by one person. Work may be in any media including drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, photography, printmaking, computer art, ceramic, glass, bronze, and steel. Time-based and video-based works are not accepted. All 2D art must be suitably presentable and ready for hanging or display. Framed works may have glass or plexiglass and must have suitable hanging wire or D rings. 3D work must be able to be shipped, stored and displayed safely. Alternative display methods require prior approval from the Director.

Entry fee is $35 for a minimum of two images, with a $5 fee for each additional entry up to a maximum of five images. Submission deadline is November 22, 2020. Artists will be notified on November 25, 2020. Shipping and hand delivery dates are November 25 through December 15, 2020. Exhibition dates are December 15, 2020 through January 9, 2021. Closing reception is Saturday, January 9 from 6:00-7:30 pm at the DMAC gallery, where artists may pick up their work at the end of the reception. Awards include Juror's Choice, Honorable Mentions, Director's Choice, and People's Choice. The gallery will connect artists to patrons for private sales but will not take a commission.
