Models In Motion

SFVACC/SCORE invites artists and photographers worldwide to enter the Models in Motion exhibition. The theme focuses on the human figure in movement—a twist, a dance, a reach, or gesture that adds dimension beyond traditional posed positions. Artwork will be juried using digital images by Jim Morphesis, an influential expressionist artist whose work is held in major museum collections including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Artists may submit up to six original artworks in the following media: drawing, mixed media, collage, printmaking, fiber art, photography, painting, digital art, sculpture, and assemblage. Submissions must be high-resolution JPEGs (maximum 5MB), either cropped to remove background or on a black background without a mat. Entry fee is $35 for the first artwork, with additional entries at $5 each. Eligibility is open to all artists and photographers worldwide.

Awards include Best of Show ($800), 1st Place ($400), 2nd Place ($300), up to four Honorable Mention certificates, and an Award of Distinction certificate selected by the SFVACC board. The virtual exhibit opens April 1, 2021 and closes April 30, 2021, with a virtual artists' reception on April 10, 2021 (5-7pm PST). Acceptance notifications will be sent by email March 17-19, 2021.
