About This Call

The MJSA Education Foundation is a nonprofit educational branch of the Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America, Inc. Scholarships are available for undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in tool making, design, metals fabrication or other jewelry related courses of study at accredited colleges, universities, and nonprofit technical schools in the U.S. Proprietary schools (for-profit institutions run by private individuals or corporations that offer training in jewelry-related fields) are also eligible. Awards are not made for home study courses.

Several scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,000 will be given annually with awards renewable up to four years if the student maintains good academic standing. Renewal award amounts may vary annually. Applications are reviewed by a committee comprised of industry professionals representing a variety of disciplines in jewelry manufacturing, design or related services. All applicants are assessed with the following criteria: course of study, career objectives, samples of work, financial need, jewelry industry experience, academic achievement and recommendations. Grants will be made on an objective, non-discriminating basis.

Students must submit the following online: application form, resume, essay (300 words or less) describing your program of study and ultimate professional goal, reason for choosing the program, and how far along you are toward completion of the program, and samples of your work. Additional required items that may be submitted online or via hard copy include: recommendation letter from educator, jewelry industry professional, etc.; most recent financial aid award letter and transcript of grades from your college. Incomplete applications cannot be considered. All samples of work must be submitted online; no slides or hard copy materials will be accepted. Submit five images of jewelry pieces (images should show jewelry being worn). Please include title of work, date completed, medium and dimensions.
