Missouri Art Now

Missouri Art Now is a state-wide competition for artists who live and work in Missouri. To celebrate Missouri's bicentennial, several arts organizations have come together to present a traveling exhibit throughout 2021. The exhibition will feature sixty works from artists throughout the State of Missouri, demonstrating the vibrant visual arts culture in the state.

The competition is open to both 2-D and 3-D artists who reside in Missouri. Size restrictions are: 2D work must be 37" x 37" including frame; 3D work must be 100 pounds or less and not over 32" x 32" x 68". Artists must hold residence in one of Missouri's four designated zones (detailed county lists available). Entry requires a $30 fee for three images; additional images beyond three are $10 each. Submissions must include a minimum of 3 images and a maximum of 20.

Selected work will be presented at five venues throughout 2021: The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri in Cape Girardeau; The State Historical Society of Missouri in Columbia; Post Art Library/Spiva Center for the Arts in Joplin; Hannibal Arts Council in Hannibal; and the Albrecht-Kemper Museum in Saint Joseph. The exhibition runs from March 5 - November 7, 2021. Work will not be for sale, but each venue will pass along artist contact information to potential buyers. Artists are responsible for shipping to the first venue and from the final venue; Missouri Art Now covers shipping between venues.
