About This Call
The Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH) hosts the Mississippi Makers Fest on Saturday, May 9, 2026, on Entergy Plaza at the Two Mississippi Museums and along North Street. This juried marketplace features Mississippi artisans, live music, make-and-take activities, and food trucks.
Maker participants receive a 10' x 10' tent, one 8' table, two chairs, free Wi-Fi, easy curbside loading and unloading, a hospitality area with drinks and snacks, overnight trailer parking, discounted hotel stays, and event security. The application fee is $25, and the booth fee (due after acceptance) is $150 ($75 for non-profits with proof of 501(c)3 status). Makers must be at least 18 years old and from Mississippi. All work must be original and handmade; no buy-sell/resale, imported, mass-produced, or machine line work is permitted. Accepted makers must have products ready to sell at 10 a.m., with breakdown at 8 p.m. Check-in is from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Makers retain 100% of their sales but must submit taxes prior to leaving the event.
Applicants must submit five digital images with their application, including individual artworks representing current work with a range of price points and one booth setup image. Applications without images will be automatically disqualified. Selection is based on originality, salability, and media balance. The jury panel consists of three jurors who score applications as Yes, No, or Maybe. All applicants will be notified of acceptance, denial, or waitlist status. The application fee is non-refundable. Mississippi Makers Fest is a rain or shine event. For additional information, contact [email protected].
