International Curatorial Open Call | Venice 2026
As the 61st Venice Art Biennale draws to a close, A Space Gallery presents MINORIA — METAXIA, an international exhibition taking place in Venice on 21–22 November 2026.
The closing of the Biennale marks the end of an exhibition, but not the end of the questions it raises. What remains after months of artistic encounters? Which ideas endure, which perspectives shift, and what new conversations might begin?
METAXIA enters this moment as an independent curatorial voice, extending the artistic dialogue beyond the closing of the Biennale.
Rooted in the ongoing MINORIA curatorial programme, METAXIA takes its name from the Greek metaxy — the space between.
It is in this space that the exhibition finds its point of departure: between presence and absence, intention and interpretation, the individual work and the relationships it forms with others.
METAXIA brings together distinct artistic practices without seeking to reconcile their differences. Each work retains its own language, while entering into a wider constellation of meanings, tensions and unexpected connections.
The exhibition approaches art not as a collection of isolated statements, but as an unfolding conversation — one in which meaning is neither fixed nor exhausted by a single interpretation.
A Space Gallery invites artists from around the world to contribute to this dialogue in Venice.
Applications are welcome from emerging and established artists working in painting, sculpture, photography, installation, mixed media and interdisciplinary practices. Selection will consider the strength of each artistic proposition and its potential contribution to the exhibition's curatorial framework.

Venue: A Space Gallery, Castello, Venice, Italy
Application deadline: 31 October 2026
Application fee: €35 (up to three works)
Selected artists pay no additional exhibition or participation fee. Artwork transportation, return shipping and applicable insurance remain the responsibility of the artist. Payment of the application fee does not guarantee selection.
