About This Call
The 14th annual Minnesota Pottery Festival will be held July 25-26, 2026 at Masonic West River Park in Hutchinson, MN, featuring 35-40 clay artists. The show is an all-clay exhibition with booth hours Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 10am-4pm. There is no admission charge to the public.
The festival includes a kids' station, technique demonstrations, and Pottery Olympics where exhibiting potters compete in throwing. Booth sitters are provided during the weekend. All booths are approximately 12' x 12' on grass with storage space behind. No electricity is available, but WiFi is provided. Artists are responsible for providing their own props, including tables, tents, hanging materials, and folding chairs. All work must be handmade by the artist; no manufactured goods, seconds, or sales signs are allowed. Images used in applications must be representative of the work shown.
Application fee is $25 with a $225 booth fee (waived for 1-2 selected emerging artists annually). Emerging artists must be in their first 2 years of pottery career. Camping is available on site for $25, and local hosts offer free home accommodations. An artists' potluck dinner is held Saturday night, and coffee and treats are provided during morning setup both days. Free MNPF t-shirts and water are provided to all participating artists. Prizes are awarded to 1st and 2nd place winners in the Pottery Olympics, with artists eligible for prizes two consecutive years only.
Vehicles must be off festival grounds 1 hour before the show starts each day and cannot return until 15 minutes after closing. Set up begins at noon Friday and 7am Saturday. Artists are responsible for collecting and paying Minnesota sales tax (7.875% in Hutchinson). All artists must have an ST-19 on file. The festival reserves the right to remove work that does not meet standards or is inconsistent with submitted images. Failure to follow rules may result in disqualification from future festivals.
