About This Call

The Minnesota Biennial: 3D II is the fourth in a series of juried exhibitions organized by the Minnesota Museum of American Art that features recent work by contemporary Minnesota artists. The Minnesota Biennial series alternates between exhibitions of two-dimensional and three-dimensional art.

The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age and older currently living and working in Minnesota. Each artist may submit up to 3 original works completed within the last 5 years. Sculpture and installations of all mediums are eligible for entry. All works must fit through an 80" x 70" door and may not exceed 150 pounds in weight. Submissions consist of 1-2 digital images per work (6 images maximum), a current resume, and a $30 entry fee, submitted online through CaFE. The juror is Jennifer Jankauskas, Associate Curator of Exhibitions at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center.

The Minnesota Museum of American Art will purchase one or more works of art from the exhibition for the permanent collection. Purchase awards will be made at the discretion of the Museum. The exhibition runs from November 17, 2007 to February 3, 2008. Artists will be notified of acceptance on September 21, 2007. All accepted work must be received by November 9, 2007. After the exhibition closes, all art must be picked up by February 8, 2008 unless arrangements are approved in advance. The Museum will provide insurance on all works while at the Museum, but artists are responsible for transit and are encouraged to secure their own insurance for transportation.
