About This Call

The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden Art Fair will take place May 9-10, 2026 (Mother's Day Weekend) at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, one of Minneapolis' most popular parks featuring more than 60 sculptures from the Walker Art Center's collection, including the iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry. The event will feature approximately 175 artist booths, along with music, crafts, botanicals, food, and more. Hours are 10am-6pm Saturday and 10am-5pm Sunday. Set up takes place Friday morning and early afternoon with assigned load-in times. Overnight security will be provided Friday and Saturday nights.

Accepted artists may purchase single booths (at least 10x10 feet) or double booths (at least 10x20 feet). Standard booth fees are $375 for single and $750 for double, with premium/corner booths at $475 and discounted booths at $275. An application fee of $30 is required. Booths will be set up on grassy areas in the park or adjacent parking lot; level ground is not guaranteed. Sixteen artists will be selected for a featured Botanical Section under the Cowles Conservatory glass building, featuring work with botanicals (plants, flowers, greenery, lichen, etc.).

Applications open December 1, 2025 with a deadline of March 1, 2026. Applicants must submit five images (four of current work and one booth image) and a $30 non-refundable jury fee per media. Work will be judged on process, creativity, originality, difficulty, and overall design. Jury results will be emailed March 11, 2026 with artist contracts. Booth fees and contracts are due March 27, 2026. Artists may cancel with full refund by March 30, 2026; 50% refund for cancellations between March 31 and April 10, 2026; no refunds after April 10, 2026.

Awards include Best in Show, Best Booth Presentation, and Most Engaging, each receiving automatic entry and 50% off booth fees for 2027. All artists must be onsite during the festival. No AI art or buy/sell items allowed. Artists retain 100% of sales and are responsible for sales tax collection. The event is zero waste; artists cannot use non-compostable or non-recyclable items for customer packaging. Artists must provide tents that withstand wind and rain with 40 pounds per tent leg as the safety standard.
