About This Call

Migration 2021 is an international juried visual arts dual opportunity showcasing various matters related to the life of migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. The call seeks artistic interpretations of concepts related to migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers in relation to culture, religion, economy, work, skills, ethnic networks, family issues, health, education, abuse, violence, labor, and other relevant contexts. All abstract and representational expressions of immigration and immigrants showcasing their faces, figures, acts, life aspects, problems, hopes, and fears are welcome.

This dual opportunity includes both an exhibition and publication component. Selected artworks will be showcased in an online international group exhibition from February 1 to March 3, 2022, organized by Gallerium Art Exhibitions, and published in The Book of Arts: Migration online publication. The online version of the book will be available for free, while high-quality print versions can be ordered via print-on-demand services. The book will be promoted and distributed internationally to thousands of readers including experts, galleries, curators, businesses, and art enthusiasts.

The call is open to all visual artists worldwide working in 2 and 3-dimensional media including painting, drawing, illustration, printmaking, photography, digital art, fiber art, sculpture, and mixed media. Artists can submit up to 5 original artworks. There is no submission fee. A selection fee of USD 40 applies only to selected artists. Selected artists will receive a digital certificate, online profile page on the Biafarin platform, exhibition catalogue listing, digital exhibition poster, social media badges, and a report with analytics on artwork views and engagement.
