About This Call
The 37th Midwest Salute to the Arts invites artists to participate in a spectacular three-day outdoor arts festival held annually the weekend before Labor Day in Everett Moody Park at Longacre in Fairview Heights, IL. Recognized as a Sunshine Artist 200 Best for 2022 & 2023, this is one of the longest running arts festivals bringing art to the Southern Illinois region just 12 miles east of downtown St. Louis. The festival hosts up to 100 award-winning national and local artists displaying their work in beautiful Moody Park.
The festival offers outstanding artist hospitality including booth sitters and volunteers, free admission and parking, 24-hour security, festival website with artist links and photos, and a festival brochure with artist information. Artists retain all sales and are not required to pay commission. The event awards $17,300 in cash prizes including Best of Show ($2,000), Best of Category ($1,000 each for 10 categories), Awards of Excellence ($500 each for 9 awards), Arts Council Award ($500), and Mayor's Choice Award ($300).
Artists may enter multiple categories but are limited to one booth, with separate jury fees required per category. All exhibiting artists are required to donate a minimum of two pieces of their own work to the Children's Gallery or make a $50 cash donation. The festival runs Friday 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., and Sunday 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with awards presentation Sunday morning. Application fee is free, and 5 images plus a booth shot are required for submission.
