MidAmerica Pastel Society: Pastels Only

Members and non-members of the MidAmerica Pastel Society from Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, and Iowa are encouraged to enter. Current 2014 MAPS members receive a reduced entry fee.

All work must be matted, framed, and wired for hanging; clip frames will not be accepted. Plexiglas is required on all shipped work. Maximum frame size is 40 inches horizontal or vertical. The Art Gallery is located in a community center; please use discretion on subject matter. Entries must be submitted by midnight Central Time, July 14, 2014 via CaFE (www.callforentry.org). Submit 1-3 JPEG images at minimum 1920 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi, maximum 3 MB file size.

Entry fee is $50 for non-members or $35 for MAPS members (up to three images). Payment may be made by credit/debit card or check. Checks must be postmarked by the deadline and made out to MidAmerica Pastel Society, sent to Cris Sundquist, 2104 CR 4270, Independence, KS 67301. Awards include First Place $1500, Second Place $1000, Third Place $500, and five Honorable Mentions at $100 each, judged by Prof. William Eickhorst. All work must be for sale; a 30% commission will be retained by the City of Merriam on sales. Shipped work incurs storage and delivery fees ($40 per box for separate boxes, or $40 for first piece and $15 for each additional piece when shipped together). Hand-delivered work has no handling fee. Artists are responsible for insuring their own work prior to and after the exhibit.
