Mid-Atlantic Juried Exhibition

McGuffey Art Center invites artists to apply to the Mid-Atlantic Juried Show, running April 4-27, 2025. The exhibition is open to artists residing in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, or North Carolina.

Eligibility and Requirements: All work must be original and completed within the last three years. Accepted media include painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, fiber, sculpture, and mixed media. 2D entries should not exceed 6 feet in any direction. No entries requiring the artist to be present for moving or assembly will be accepted. Applicants must submit 1-3 digital images. Entry fees are $35 ($25 for members).

Timeline: Call opens October 24, 2024. Entry deadline is January 15, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Artists will be notified February 15, 2025. Accepted work must be received March 18-25, 2025 (shipping or hand delivery). The First Friday Opening Reception is April 4, 2025, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Work returns/pick-up: April 29-May 2, 2025 (Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Sunday 1-5 p.m.).

Delivery and Returns: Work may be shipped or hand-delivered to McGuffey Art Center, 201 2nd St. NW, Charlottesville, VA 22902. Shipped entries must use reusable containers with return shipping form enclosed and include a $25 check for unpacking/repacking fees. Hand deliveries do not require a handling fee. Artists are responsible for insuring their own work and all shipping costs. Exhibited work not claimed by May 2 will not be held.

Sales: All work is available for purchase unless marked "Not for Sale" at entry. Artists receive 65% of the sale price; McGuffey receives 35%. Checks will be mailed a few weeks after the show closes.

Juror: Jeffrey W. Allison, Paul Mellon Collection Educator and Director of Statewide Programs and Exhibitions at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and professional photographer.
