About This Call
Gallery 621, an artist-run fine art gallery located in Benicia, CA, invites all U.S. artists 18 years and older to submit work for the MICROCOSMOS juried exhibition. Original artwork completed between 2013 and 2015 is eligible. The exhibition runs October 29 through November 29, with an opening reception on November 14 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Small scale pieces are required, no larger than 12" x 12" including frame for 2D work, and 12" (L) x 12" (W) x 17" (H) for 3D work. All media are accepted except installation and video. Artists may submit up to 3 entries for a non-refundable $35 fee. The juror is Chester Arnold, a professor at the College of Marin whose work has been exhibited nationally and is represented in the Smithsonian American Art Museum. A juror's award will be given to the top three artworks, with the awarded artists offered an additional 2-month extension to exhibit and sell their work at Gallery 621 after the show closes.
Online submissions are required through CaFÉ for Artists (callforentry.org). Entry deadline is September 23, 2015 at 10 p.m. Pacific Time Zone. Accepted work must be received between October 24 and October 27. Artists will be notified of selections by email on October 8. Artists are encouraged to sell their work; Gallery 621 retains 40% of sales during the exhibition and 25% commission on sales made up to three months after the exhibit if sold as a direct result of the gallery display. Artists assume all liability for their work and should obtain their own insurance.
