Michigan Ceramics 2018

MCAA Michigan Ceramics 2018 is a biennial exhibition and competition showcasing ceramic art across Michigan and neighboring states, operated entirely by artists. The exhibition runs from October 5th to October 31st at Padnos Student Art Gallery, Calder Art Center, Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. A reception and awards presentation will take place on Friday, October 5th, 2018 from 7-9 pm.

Eligibility is open to Michigan residents 18 years and older and all MCAA members regardless of state of residence. Work submitted must be original, use clay as the primary material, and have been created in the last two years. Artists may enter up to three works with two images per work. Due to limited gallery space, small pieces or wall pieces are encouraged. Free standing pieces must have a footprint no larger than 2 ft x 2 ft.

Entry fees are $50 for non-members (MI residents), $25 for MCAA members with dues paid, $20 for full-time students with proof, and free for students at schools with institutional memberships. The entry deadline is August 25, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artists will be notified of the juror's decision by the end of September via email. All works must be delivered September 17th through September 28th to Calder Art Center, 1105 Calder Dr, Allendale, Michigan 49401, and picked up between November 1st through November 3rd. Participants are encouraged to offer entries for sale; a 30% commission to MCAA will be deducted from each sale. Items not for sale must be marked NFS.
