Messina Hof Wine Label Competition 2021

Messina Hof Winery invites artists to submit artwork for the 31st Annual Messina Hof Texas Artist Wine Label Competition. Artists are invited to depict the theme of "NEW BEGINNINGS." The competition celebrates the budding of the vines and blooming of the roses, with artwork featured during Wine & Roses Themed Weekends in April and May 2021 at Messina Hof Winery in Bryan, Texas.

Top Finalists will be invited to display during the Wine & Roses Weekends and attend the Spring VIP Reception. The 1st place winner receives $1,000, artwork displayed on Messina Hof wine labels with artist name and title, permanent display in the Messina Hof Gallery, invitation to the Harvest Grand Finale Dinner in August 2021, social media recognition, and a certificate for a Private Tour & Tasting for 10. The 2nd place winner receives $250, social media recognition, and a Private Tour & Tasting certificate. The 3rd place winner receives $100, social media recognition, and a Private Tour & Tasting certificate. Attendees of the Wine & Roses Weekends will vote for the top three winners in a people's choice contest.

Eligibility: Artists must reside in Texas and be 21 years of age or older. Medium for final artwork is open to any 2D medium including watercolor, oil, pastel, pencil, acrylic, collage, multimedia, and digital art. Subject must be visually big and bold and adhere to the theme "New Beginnings." Entry cannot contain faces of people, depictions of children or babies, logos depicting Messina Hof Winery, weaponry, trademark symbols, words, flags, military or governmental insignia. Physical artwork submitted should not exceed 3'x3' with a minimum size requirement of 2'x2'. Entry fee is $25 for the first digital submission and $20 for each additional digital submission. Digital artwork submission, application, and fees are due Friday, March 12, 2021. Finalists will be notified Friday, March 19, 2021. Finalists' framed physical artwork is due by 5:00pm Friday, April 2, 2021. Competition results will be announced Friday, May 14, 2021. Remaining artwork must be picked up by 5:00pm Friday, May 21, 2021. All proceeds will be donated to The Arts Council, a local non-profit organization.
