Messina Hof Wine Label Competition 2019

The 29th Annual Messina Hof Texas Artist Wine Label Competition is the centerpiece for the 35th Annual Wine & Roses Festival on Saturday, April 13, 2019. The competition theme is "Glamour." Artists must reside in Texas and be 21 years of age or older.

Entry fee is $25 for the first digital submission and $20 for each additional digital submission. Digital artwork submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. MST on March 1, 2019. Finalists will be notified on March 8, 2019 and invited to submit physical artwork by 5:00 p.m. on April 5, 2019. Artwork must be original 2D work in any medium (watercolor, oil, pastel, pencil, acrylic, collage, multimedia, or digital art) and must be framed in a professional-looking, dark-colored wooden frame. Entries cannot contain faces of people, weaponry, trademark symbols, words, flags, military or governmental insignia. The suggested aspect ratio is 3x2.

Top Finalists will receive an invitation to display and sell artwork at the Wine & Roses Festival with a complimentary booth (over 2,500 people expected) and an invitation to a VIP Reception on April 14, 2019. Festival attendees will vote for winners in a people's choice contest on April 13, 2019. The 1st place winner receives $1,000, artwork displayed on Messina Hof wine labels with artist name and title, permanent display in the Messina Hof Gallery, invitation to the Harvest Grand Finale Dinner in August 2019, social media recognition, and a certificate for a Private Tour & Tasting for 10 at Messina Hof Estate Winery. The 2nd place winner receives $250, and the 3rd place winner receives $100. All winners receive social media recognition and a Private Tour & Tasting certificate. The 1st place artwork becomes the property of Messina Hof Wine Cellars, Inc. All proceeds are donated to The Arts Council.
