Messina Hof Texas Artist Wine Label Competition 2025

The 35th Annual Messina Hof Texas Artist Wine Label Competition invites Texas artists to create artwork depicting the theme of "Modern Renaissance." The winning artwork will be featured on a Messina Hof wine label and displayed at the 41st Annual Wine & Roses Festival on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Messina Hof Estate Winery in Bryan. The competition has fostered connections between Texas art and winemaking since 1986. In partnership with The Arts Center of Brazos Valley, entry fees are donated directly to fund local arts programs.

Artists must submit digital artwork by March 21, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Entry fee is $25.00 plus a $20.00 media fee. Submissions must include 1-6 images of original 2D artwork (no digital photography or AI-generated work). Artwork must be visually bold, adhere to the "Modern Renaissance" theme, and range from 24"x24" to 48"x48". Entries cannot contain Messina Hof names or logos, faces of people, nudity, weaponry, trademark symbols, words, flags, or military/governmental insignia. Top finalists will be notified by March 28 and invited to display and sell artwork at the Wine & Roses Festival with a complimentary table. Finalists must submit framed physical artwork by April 11.

The 1st place winner receives $1,000 cash, artwork displayed on select Messina Hof wine labels with artist name and title, permanent display in the Messina Hof Gallery, invitation to the Harvest Grand Finale Dinner in August 2025, social media recognition, and a certificate for a private tasting for 10 people. The 2nd place winner receives $500 cash, social media recognition, and a tasting certificate. The 3rd place winner receives $250 cash, social media recognition, and a tasting certificate. All finalists receive a pair of tickets to the 2025 Harvest Festival. Artists must reside in Texas and be 21 years of age or older.
