Messina Hof Texas Artist Wine Label Competition 2022

The 32nd Annual Messina Hof Texas Artist Wine Label Competition is held as part of the 38th Annual Wine & Roses Festival on Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24, 2022. Artists are invited to submit work depicting the theme of "EXPLORATION." Digital entries are judged by a panel including the owners of Messina Hof and the Arts Council based on: (1) Appropriateness of Materials, (2) Reducibility and Appropriateness for Intended Use on Label, (3) Appropriateness of Theme, (4) Workmanship, and (5) Overall Impression.

Top Finalists selected from digital submissions will be invited to submit physical framed artwork by 5:00pm on Friday, April 1, 2022. Finalists receive a complimentary booth to display and sell artwork at the Wine & Roses Festival (over 2,500 people expected) and an invitation to the VIP Reception on April 23, 2022. Festival attendees vote for their favorite artwork among the finalists.

The 1st place winner receives $1,000, artwork displayed on Messina Hof wine labels with artist name and title, permanent display in the Messina Hof Gallery, invitation to the Harvest Grand Finale Dinner in August 2022, social media recognition, and a certificate for a Private Tour & Tasting for 10 at Messina Hof Estate Winery. The 2nd place winner receives $250, social media recognition, and a Private Tour & Tasting certificate. The 3rd place winner receives $100, social media recognition, and a Private Tour & Tasting certificate. The 1st place artwork becomes the property of Messina Hof Wine Cellars, Inc. Entry fee is $25 for the first submission and $20 for each additional submission. All proceeds are donated to The Arts Council. Finalists must pick up remaining artwork by 5:00pm on Friday, May 13, 2022; shipping expenses are the artist's responsibility.
