About This Call
The Homeless Prenatal Program (HPP) Community Campus expansion is an 8-story mixed-use building and its connection points being built adjacent to HPP's current building at the corner of 18th Street and Potrero Avenue at 2530 18th Street. The campus expansion will include supportive housing, office space, and supportive services. Mercy Housing will support HPP in their campus expansion plan, taking the lead on financing and development of the residential portion of the project and coordinating with HPP and their consultants on the expanded office and services space.
NINE dot ARTS is the art curation and consulting firm overseeing the public artwork portion of the campus expansion. The artwork will reflect the power of community and home, working to empower visitors, residents, and staff while bringing hope, comfort, and connection to the internal and external community. The artwork will integrate with and complement the thoughtful design and support the architectural story of embrace and comfort.
Four artwork locations are available with the following budgets: Location 1 - Sculpture/Installation at Entry ($18,000); Location 2 - Hanging Installation at Stairwell ($22,609.88); Location 3 - Mural at North Façade, 10' x 33' ($11,500 per mural, qty 2 available); Location 4 - Mural at East Façade, 14' x 33' ($25,510). Applicants should confirm interest and ability to work with the project vision, budget, and schedule, and specify which location they are interested in via email to [email protected]. Portfolio images (JPEGs or PDF) relevant to the project or expression of practice may be shared. Local Bay Area artists are preferred but not required.
