Mentors and Guiding Hands Juried Exhibition

The "Mentors and Guiding Hands" is an in-person juried exhibition running from May 3 – June 12, 2025 at the Visual and Performing Arts Center (VAPA) in Charlotte, North Carolina. The exhibition celebrates the profound impact of mentors and helping hands that shape personal and professional journeys. All works must be original 2-D artwork in any medium, style, or genre, including mixed-media and photography. Art reproductions are not accepted. Artwork must fulfill the exhibition theme, be family-friendly, and appropriate for the general public. Maximum size is 38" x 48" including frame, and artwork must not exceed 50 lbs. All pieces must arrive dry, wired, and ready to hang.

The submission deadline is April 10, 2025. Entry fees are $30.00 for non-members and $20.00 for VAPA members and are non-refundable. Artists may submit one to three pieces. All artwork must be hand delivered on April 25 or 26, 2025 from 3 PM to 7 PM. Works will be juried into the show and then judged by Marisa J. Pascucci of Van Every/Smith Galleries, with cash prizes offered for first through third place. A reception will be held on May 3rd from 3 PM – 5 PM where prizes will be announced. Artwork pickup is June 13 or 14, 2025 from 3 PM to 7 PM.

Eligibility: Artists aged 18 or over living in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, or the surrounding counties of Union, Cabarrus, Lancaster, York, Iredell, Lincoln, Catawba, Rowan, Stanley, and Gaston. Artists must be able to hand deliver their work to VAPA. For questions, contact [email protected].
