Memories

Falkirk Cultural Center invites artists residing within the nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area to submit up to 3 separate pieces of original work completed in the past two years, not previously shown at Falkirk Cultural Center. The exhibition theme is "Memories." Artists are invited to submit images that recall a significant memory—places, events, or emotions that have triggered a memory. All mediums are welcome including collages, paintings, drawings, assemblages, sculptures, and fiber arts, except jewelry and videography.

Accepted artists will be asked to write a statement of 30 words or less describing the memory that inspired their work. These statements will be displayed next to each artwork. Exhibition dates are January 10 – February 21, 2025. The opening reception and award ceremony will be held Friday, January 10, 2025, 5-7:30pm. Awards: 1st place $100, 2nd place $75, 3rd place $50. Entry deadline is December 8, 2024 at 11:59pm MST. Entry fee is $40 for one entry; $7.50 for each additional entry (up to 3 total). Notifications of acceptance will be sent via email by Friday, December 13, 2024.

Artwork delivery is hand delivery only on Friday, January 3, 2025, between 10am-2pm at Falkirk Cultural Center (1408 Mission Avenue, San Rafael, CA 94901). Size limits: 2D artwork maximum 36 x 36 inches, not exceeding 20 pounds; 3D artwork maximum 36 x 36 x 36 inches, not exceeding 60 pounds. All works on paper must be framed and ready to hang.
