Memories

The Rhode Island Watercolor Society invites artists to submit work for the "Memories" exhibition. The theme explores how memories inform identity and creative work, whether through direct reference to a specific memory or abstract feeling. The exhibition will take place both online and in person at the gallery in Pawtucket from July 12th through August 15th, with an opening reception on Saturday, July 12th at 1pm.

Open to all artists in the United States working in 2D media, excluding photography and digital art. Acceptable mediums include watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oils, ink, casein, collage, mixed media, monotype, and egg tempera. Work must not have been exhibited in a previous Rhode Island Watercolor Society juried show, must have been completed within the last 10 years, and may not be copied from copyrighted material or created under the direct guidance of another artist or tutorial. Pieces may not exceed 48 inches on the longest side including frame. Work must be professionally framed or presented, with frames no wider than 1.5 inches and must be wired for hanging.

Entry fee is $20 per image for non-members, $15 per image for members. Submit 1-3 images with a total of 1-3 work samples. Drop-off and shipping dates are June 26th through July 10th (Thursdays and Fridays 10am-4pm, Saturdays 10am-3pm, closed July 4th). Notification of acceptance is June 25th. Pick-up date is August 15th from 10am-4pm. Return shipping window is August 15th through September 15th. The Rhode Island Watercolor Society receives 35% commission on any sold work.
