About This Call
This is a members-only exhibition accepting one original artwork per artist in any media. Work must not have been previously exhibited at the Academy and should preferably have been created in the last three years. No giclee prints, reproductions, diptychs, or triptychs are accepted.
Artwork specifications: 2D/wall-hung pieces must not exceed 30 inches in any dimension (height/width), including mat and frame if applicable. Sculpture and 3D work must be light enough for one person to handle and should not exceed 30 inches in any direction. Framed work must be ready to hang using securely attached picture wire with professional hanging hardware such as screw eyes or D-rings; tape, claw hangers, fishing line, and string are not acceptable. All artwork must be delivered and picked up in-person on designated dates and must remain for the duration of the exhibit.
Submissions are free for members and are made through ShowSubmit.com. Submit a high-quality JPEG image (at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge, maximum 30 MB file size) along with the artwork title, year of creation, media, dimensions (framed and unframed if applicable), and sales price. Optionally include a short bio, artist statement, CV, or resume. Works may be submitted for sale or as not-for-sale. Although there are no price restrictions, work priced at $750 or less has shown the greatest chance of selling. The Academy retains a 35% commission on sales, with artists receiving 65%. Checks for sold work are typically mailed within two weeks of the show's end. If a gallery visitor contacts you during or within six months after the show and subsequently purchases artwork from you, the Academy requests a tax-deductible donation equal to 10% of the sale price. For questions, contact Meryl Enerson at [email protected].
