Members Juried Exhibition

This is a juried exhibition open to Pastel Society of Western New York (PSWNY) members in good standing. Entrants may submit up to 4 two-dimensional soft pastel paintings. Entry fees are $35 for 3 entries or $10 for each additional entry (4th entry). The entry deadline is July 18, 2025.

Eligibility requirements: Entries must have been created within the last three years and not previously shown in a juried show in Monroe County or any other PSWNY exhibitions. Work that has previously won an award in any national or international competitive show is not permitted. All aspects of the work must be the artist's original work, including subject, photography, composition, drawing, and painting. Using someone else's photograph is not permissible. Work must be at least 80% soft pastel with no charcoal allowed. Paintings cannot exceed 60 inches on the longest side before framing. Entries may not be produced in any instructional class or workshop. No diptych or triptych paintings, mechanical reproductions, photography, crafts, or computer-generated art are accepted.

Submission requirements: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Crop images to show only the artwork without matting, frames, or background. Ensure images are oriented correctly and use the sRGB color profile. All paintings must be well framed and supported by picture wire only, with wire ends covered with tape. Saw-tooth hangers are not allowed. Dirty or damaged matboard or frames will not be hung. Work that is accepted into the show may not be picked up until the listed pick-up day and only within the specified pick-up times. If you cannot pick up your own work, notify Stacy Mayou ([email protected], 316-350-5180) of who will pick it up. PSWNY does not accept shipped work. Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline. Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline, and incomplete entries will be disqualified.
