Members Juried Exhibition

This is a juried exhibition open to PSWNY members in good standing as of March 1, 2024. Entrants may submit up to 3 two-dimensional soft pastel paintings. Work must be created within the last three years and not previously shown in a juried show in Monroe County or other PSWNY exhibitions. Work that has previously won an award in any national or international competitive show is not permitted. All aspects of the entry must be the artist's original work, including subject, photography, composition, drawing, and painting. Using someone else's photograph is not permissible.

Paintings must be at least 80% soft pastel with no charcoal allowed. Work cannot exceed 24 inches on the longest side before framing. Entries may not be produced in any instructional class or workshop. No diptych or triptych paintings, mechanical reproductions, photography, crafts, computer-generated art, or nudes are permitted. All paintings must be well framed and supported by picture wire only; saw-tooth hangers are not allowed. Wire ends must be covered with tape.

The entry fee is $35 for 1-3 paintings. Submit high-quality JPEG image files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Crop images to show only the artwork without matting, frames, or background. Images must be oriented correctly. Entry deadline is August 12, 2024. Entries may be edited until the deadline. Transportation can be arranged for those unable to pick up work on the designated dates.
