About This Call

The National Basketry Organization is announcing the 2nd biennial Members in Print juried exhibition. Works selected will be published in the Summer 2020 edition of Basketry +, NBO's full-color magazine. This year's theme is Pattern & Texture, defined as a work of basketry that, in some way, celebrates pattern and texture.

The exhibit is open to all members of the National Basketry Organization, including International and Friend members, at the time of the entry due date. Friend members that have a piece selected may purchase a copy of the Summer 2020 Basketry + or upgrade their membership. Entry fee is $35.00. Submissions should include 1-4 images. High-resolution images due April 15 (minimum 300 PPI and size 8x10, or 3000 pixels on the longest side; larger files are preferred). Notification of selections is approximately April 5.

Juror: Jo Stealey, a nationally recognized artist, author, and curator, professor emerita and founding director of the School of Visual Studies at the University of Missouri. Her work focuses on sculptural vessels using basketry techniques and handmade paper, and is found in collections including the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery and the Anna Lamar Switzer Center for Visual Arts.
