About This Call
The Mayor Mattie Parker High School Art Competition 2025 is open to all high school students in Fort Worth, TX, and surrounding areas within a 20-mile radius. Works must be 2-D or 3-D, original, and completed within the last year. All works must be available through the entire run of the show and available for sale. Two-dimensional works cannot exceed 48" in height or width, including frame. Three-dimensional works cannot exceed 24" in height or width.
Up to three digital images may be submitted via CaFÉ with no entry fee. Each entrant may submit up to three different artworks, with each work represented by only one image. Juror selections will be announced via email no later than April 19, 2025. Works must be delivered by May 10, 2025 to Fort Works Art Gallery (gallery hours Tue-Sat 11-5 pm). The exhibition runs May 18-31, 2025, with an award ceremony on May 18, 2-4 p.m. at Fort Works Art Gallery.
Awards include 1st Place: $500, 2nd Place: $300, 3rd Place: $100. The first-place artwork will be featured in the Mayor's office for one year, and top selections will be featured in a 2-week exhibition at Fort Works Art. A scholarship opportunity is also available, offering a student the chance to attend The Texas Academy of Figurative Art (TAFA) Summer Teen Workshop.
