Mayor Mattie Parker High School Art Competition 2023

The Mayor Mattie Parker Citywide High School Art Competition 2023 is open to all high school students in Fort Worth, TX, and surrounding areas within a 20-mile radius. Students may submit 2-D or 3-D original works completed within the last year. Works must be available through the entire run of the show and available for sale. Do not submit works that might be sold before or shown elsewhere during the competition timeframe.

Awards include 1st Place: $500, 2nd Place: $300, and 3rd Place: $100. The first-place artwork will be featured in the Mayor's office for one year, and top selections will be featured in a 2-week exhibition at Fort Works Art. If a student's work is sold, the student receives 90% of the sale price and 10% goes to The WARM Place, a non-profit serving children in Texas.

Two-dimensional works cannot exceed 60" in height or width including frame. Three-dimensional works cannot exceed 24" in height or width. Students may submit one, two, or three digital images via CaFÉ with no entry fee. Each work must be represented by only one image. Juror selections will be announced by email and the CaFÉ website no later than May 9th, 2023. All 2-D works must have hangers or be wired for hanging with proper hardware. Works must be delivered by May 12th, 2023 to Fort Works Art Gallery (Tue-Sat 11am-5pm). For other delivery arrangements, contact 817.759.9475.
