Mayor Mattie Parker High School Art Competition

The Mayor Mattie Parker High School Art Competition is open to all high school students in Fort Worth, TX and surrounding areas within a 20-mile radius. The exhibition runs May 7–21, 2022, with an award ceremony on May 7 from 3:30–5:30 p.m. Jurors include Alison Hearst, Associate Curator at The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and Letitia Huckaby, Texas Artist of the Year 2022 and Founder of Kinfolk House. Top selections will be featured in a 2-week exhibition at Fort Works Art, with awards to be announced.

Eligible works must be 2-D or 3-D, original, and completed within the last year. Two-dimensional works cannot exceed 60" in height or width including frame; three-dimensional works cannot exceed 24" in height or width. All works must be available through the entire run of the show and available for sale. Do not submit works that might be sold before or shown elsewhere during the competition timeframe.

Entrants may submit up to three digital images of different artworks with no entry fee via the CaFÉ website. Each work must be represented by only one image. Juror selections will be announced by email and on the CaFÉ website no later than April 22, 2022. Selected 2-D works must have hangers or be wired for hanging and must be delivered by May 5, 2022 to Fort Works Art Gallery (Tue-Sat 11 a.m.–5 p.m.).
