About This Call

Art Saint Louis presents "Maturity and Its Muse: Celebrating Artistic Experience 2023," an all-media juried exhibit showcasing the talents of artists aged 70 and older who share their thoughts and ideas about the world and themselves through their art. Artworks in all media, styles, subjects, themes, and techniques are considered.

Eligibility is limited to artists 70 years of age or older as of January 1, 2023, who live in the St. Louis, Missouri region and surrounding 200-mile radius. Artists must be residents of this area to submit work and participate. The exhibition will be held at Art Saint Louis Gallery in downtown St. Louis from April 15 to May 18, 2023, with a free opening reception on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. The entry deadline is October 1, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. MST. Entry fees are $20 for non-members and $10 for Art Saint Louis members. Artists may submit up to 5 original artworks created or completed between 2018 and 2022. Work samples may include 1-10 images and 0-5 videos.

Five non-cash Awards of Excellence will be selected by the jurors, along with three Honorable Mentions. Award recipients will be eligible for the "Honor Awards 2025" ten-artist curated exhibit at Art Saint Louis Summer 2025. The jurying process is conducted blind and anonymously, with jurors viewing only artwork titles, years, media, dimensions, display methods, and optional artist statements. Artworks must be available for the exhibition dates and cannot be double-booked for other concurrent exhibits. Two-dimensional works must be framed or have pre-approved alternate professional presentation. No ceiling-installed works or artworks sitting directly on the gallery floor are permitted.
