Maturity and Its Muse: Celebrating Artistic Experience 2021

Art Saint Louis presents an all-media juried exhibit showcasing the talents of artists aged 70 and older who share their thoughts and ideas about the world and themselves through their art. The exhibition is open to artists who are or will be at least age 70 as of January 1, 2021, and who are living in the St. Louis, Missouri region and surrounding 200-mile radius. Artworks in all media, styles, subjects, themes, and techniques are considered.

The exhibition will be held at Art Saint Louis Gallery in downtown St. Louis from April 17 to May 20, 2021. A free opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, April 24, 2021, from 5-7 p.m., and a free Artists' Gallery Talk will be held Saturday, May 1, from 10-11:15 a.m. Five non-cash Awards of Excellence will be selected by the jurors. Award recipients will be eligible for a curated "Honor Awards 2023" exhibit to be presented in Summer 2023.

Entry deadline is September 21, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Entry fees are $15 for Art Saint Louis members and $30 for non-members. Artists may submit 1-6 images and up to 3 videos (maximum 6 total work samples). Artworks must have been created or completed between 2016-2020. All 2-D and wall-displayed work must not exceed 72" width by 72" height including frame, and wall-installed works may not exceed 30 lbs. Textiles and quilts must have accompanying pre-drilled hanging bars or similar installation apparatus. The jurying process is conducted anonymously, with jurors viewing only digital images and artwork information (title, year, media, dimensions, display method, and optional artist statement).
