Material Witness

Material Witness is open to all self-identified women who are 18 years of age or older living in the United States. All work must be original and completed in the past three years. It is the juror's discretion to choose single or multiple works from each artist's submission.

All media will be considered including, but not limited to two or three-dimensional works, video, installation, and performance. A full color catalogue of the exhibition will be printed. Each accepted artist will receive one complimentary copy; additional copies will be available for purchase. An online exhibit of the accepted works will be featured on the WCAGA.org website for one year following the opening of the exhibit.

Entry fees are $30 for WCA members and $40 for non-members. Each artist may submit 3 images for the base fee. Each additional image, including detail images, costs $5 each, with a limit of 6 images total. The entry fee does not cover shipping expenses. WCA members must use a discount code at checkout to qualify for the $30 entry fee; email [email protected] with your membership number to obtain the code.

$1500 in cash prizes will be awarded during the exhibition's opening reception: First prize $750, second prize $500, third prize $250. The exhibit will be curated by a panel of three prominent women in the arts: artist and curator Lisa Alembik, artist and educator Lynn Marshall-Linnemeier, and gallery owner Marcia Wood.
