About This Call

The Masur Museum of Art's 63rd Annual Juried Competition continues a tradition that began in 1964 when the museum started building its collection through juried exhibitions. Today, the collection houses more than 500 works, including pieces by internationally renowned artists such as Picasso, Renoir, and Rodin, with a significant percentage of acquisitions coming directly through the museum's long history of Juried Competitions. This year's juror is Benjamin Hickey, Executive Director for the Center for Exploratory and Perceptual Arts in Buffalo, New York.

The competition is open to artists over 18 years old who reside in the United States. All work must be completed on or after December 31, 2023. There is a $10.00 fee per entered artwork with a minimum of two entries and a maximum of five entries. Two-dimensional work cannot exceed 85" in height and 60" in width. Three-dimensional work must be no more than 84" tall with no more than a 40" x 40" footprint and maximum weight of 200 pounds. Video works have a maximum duration of 5 minutes. Artist statements should be limited to 250 words or less.

Best in Show receives $1,000 and total awards are $3,200. A special "Best Packed" award of $100 honors the artist who packs their art most professionally. The exhibition runs February 26 – May 2, 2026 at the historic Masur Museum. Artists are notified of selections on January 14, 2026, with artwork delivery between February 2-20, 2026. Accepted work may be for sale during the exhibition with no commission taken by the museum.
