Masur Museum of Art's 62nd Annual Juried Competition

First started in 1964, the Annual Juried Competition is the Masur Museum's longest-running tradition and one of its best-reviewed exhibitions each year. Annually, 700-1000 recent artworks are submitted by artists all over the nation, in all styles and media. The Masur Museum is proud to offer cash awards totaling $3,200, with Best in Show at $1,000.00. This year's juror is Annemarie Sawkins, PhD, an independent curator based in Milwaukee with extensive exhibition experience.

Entry Requirements: Artists must be over 18 years old and reside in the United States. All work must be completed on or after December 31, 2022. Submit 2-5 entries at $10.00 per artwork ($20.00 minimum, $50.00 maximum). Work samples may include images, audio, and/or video (up to 5 of each, with a minimum of 2 total samples). Two-dimensional work cannot exceed 85" in height and 60" in width. Three-dimensional work must be no more than 84" tall with no more than a 40" x 40" footprint and maximum weight of 200 pounds; submit with installation description and dimensions. Video works must be 5 minutes or less. Artist statements are limited to 250 words or less. There is no specific theme.

Timeline and Awards: Entry deadline is December 13, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Jury dates are December 16, 2024 - January 10, 2025. Artists will be notified of selections by January 14, 2025. Artwork delivery is February 3-14, 2025. The exhibition runs February 20 - May 3, 2025 at the historic Masur Museum. Awards will be announced at the opening reception (date TBD), and checks will be mailed after the reception. A "Best Packed" award of $100.00 will be given for professional packing. Accepted work may be for sale during the exhibition with no commission taken by the museum. Accepted artists must provide a return shipping label before the exhibition ends or include it in their shipped work.
