MasterWorks of New Mexico 28th Annual Fine Art Show - Oil & Acrylic Division

The Rio Grande Art Association is accepting oil and acrylic painting entries for the Standard Fine Art Division of the 28th Annual MasterWorks of New Mexico Fine Art Show. This is a collaborative exhibition by Bardean LLC, New Mexico Watercolor Society, Pastel Society of New Mexico, and the Rio Grande Art Association. The show is open to New Mexico residents only.

Eligibility: Artists must be 18 years or older, legal New Mexico residents, and current RGAA members (membership fee $35 required). All submitted works must be original, completed within the last 2 years, and available for sale. Copies, diptychs, photography, computer-generated work, and previously exhibited works in MasterWorks or ¡Encantada! shows are not accepted. Student work is ineligible. Up to 3 works may be submitted; maximum of 2 will be accepted. Entry fee is $15 per painting. Paintings must be at least 80 square inches, with frame dimensions not exceeding 72" high by 48" wide. All work must be professionally framed without glass or plexiglass, with at least 80% hand-painted surface.

The exhibition runs March 27 - April 19, 2026 at EXPO New Mexico, Hispanic Arts Gallery, 300 San Pedro Drive NE, Albuquerque. Opening reception and awards ceremony: Friday, March 27, 5-8 pm. Public hours: Tuesdays-Sundays, 10 am-5 pm (closed Easter Sunday, April 5). Awards include Best of Show, First Place, Second Place, Third Place, Honorable Mentions, and Awards of Excellence. Hand delivery: Sunday, March 15, 10 am-1 pm. Shipped delivery deadline: Friday, March 13, 5 pm. Artist notification: Monday, February 9, 2026. Work retrieval: Monday, April 20, 10 am-1 pm. Paintings not retrieved by Saturday, May 23 will be considered abandoned. MasterWorks handles all sales and collects gross receipts tax; artists receive 75% of sale price after 25% donation to RGAA.
