Masterclass: Build A Body of Work

This six-month masterclass is designed to help artists hone their vision in creating a cohesive body of work and articulate that vision to the world. The curriculum features recorded lectures on creativity, time, intention, and flow, as well as bi-monthly live sessions in a group setting. Masterclass artists gain access to Fireside Chats and live critiques with artists, curators, publishers, and other art professionals.

The workshop focuses on four main aspects of professional art development: Studio Practice, where accepted artists work towards beginning and refining a series of works centered around a topic, style, and idea of their choosing; Curriculum featuring lectures, studio visits, and assignments designed to guide artists in developing their work; Professional Development, which addresses how to communicate work to collectors, gallerists, museum directors, and curators through writing, catalogs, websites, and film; and Community & Critiques, where curators, artists, and writers offer insight into participating artists' work through live sessions and a private online community.

Requirements: Applicants must be 22 years or older with a minimum of 2 years experience and a solid technical foundation in any media. The workshop is virtual and requires internet access and Zoom for class meetings. Tuition does not cover art supplies, studio space, or other ancillary materials. The total cost is $2,400 over 6 months, billed at $397 monthly. The $35 application fee does not guarantee entry. Submit applications via Callforentry.org.
