About This Call

The Martin County Open Studio Tour (MCOST) announces its second annual Open Studio Tour, a free, self-guided art discovery tour taking place over 2 days during the 3rd weekend in January. Participating artists open their creative work spaces to the public, providing an opportunity for collectors and art lovers to meet artists, watch demonstrations, discuss creative processes, and purchase art directly from the source.

MCOST invites Martin County artists 18 and over to submit up to 5 images of original fine art or fine craft for consideration. Submitted work must be completed within the past three years and must not be from a kit or created in a class. A "Martin County" artist is defined as one who lives within or has working studio space within Martin County, FL. Prior year participants who do not meet this criteria will be grandfathered in with continuous participation. The event will be limited to 30 locations. Original work in the following media is accepted: oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, pastel, sculpture, fiber, jewelry, or ceramic.

Only online entries with digitally uploaded images will be accepted. Images must be high quality digital files sized to 3000 pixels on the long side in JPG format at 72 dpi, not exceeding 2.0 MB each. A short bio of 250 words or less should be submitted as part of the entry. The entry fee is $250 total, including jury fee. Early bird entries received before midnight May 31 qualify for a $50 discount (use coupon code "EARLY"), bringing the fee to $200. Artists must be available for approximately 4 hours of volunteer activity related to the event, or may pay a $50 Opt-Out fee. Artists must agree to keep their studio open during all tour hours, use sign-in sheets, and attend Artist Meetings. For shared studio spaces, all artists with visible work must register or their work must be removed prior to the tour. Online notification of acceptance will be completed by September 1, 2017.
