Marin Contemporary at Art Works Downtown

Marin Contemporary aims to showcase artists who live or have an art studio in Marin County and create work in contemporary themes or materials. The juror will consider artwork that relates to current subject matter, styles, and techniques.

Eligibility is limited to Marin County, California artists only. The exhibition is open to all visual arts media, including video (artists must provide player and monitor; projections are prohibited). Individual artworks must not be larger than six feet in any dimension. Only original artwork is accepted; reproductions and artworks previously exhibited in the 1337 Gallery are prohibited.

Entry fee is $40 for up to 3 entries, with a 50% discount for AWD Artist Members. Work must be hand-delivered to Art Works Downtown, 1337 Fourth Street, San Rafael between 11am and 4pm on Saturday, April 23. All work must be ready for installation with wall-hung pieces securely wired. Artists must sign a consignment contract upon delivery. Art Works Downtown accepts a 40% donation upon sale. Unsold work may be picked up between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, June 18; works not retrieved after 30 days will become property of Art Works Downtown. The reception is scheduled for Friday, May 13, 5–8pm, with a second reception on Friday, June 10, 5–8pm.
